Outdoor Screening: Israeli Film "Live and Become"

Bay Harbor Islands Movies on the Green
95th Street and West Bay Harbor Drive

Saturday December 16, 7pm

“Live and Become,” by Radu Mihalieanu, is a beautifully crafted epic story of the migration and assimilation of the Falashas, Ethiopian Jews and direct descendents of King Solomon, in Israel. It’s a gripping tale of deception and survival that entwines the issues of politics, religious right, love and identity around the fate of one young boy, a non-Jewish child, who is part of the exiled group. Sponsored by the Israeli Consulate, Live and Become has been screened at many film festivals and has consistently won the Public Award. Movies on the Green is hosted by Dwight Brown. Sandwiches and soft drinks are available for sale, and there are raffles and giveaways from local restaurants and retailers. Bring your own lawn chair or blanket. Tickets are $8 general admission and $6 for BHI residents. Parking is free.
