Joley @ The Hotel Astor

Boutique sleepery, the Hotel Astor, is once again a hot nighttime noshing destination now that the stylish Joley has opened in the former Johnny V space.

The subterranean sepia-hued dining room designed by Nicky Bernstein (Michy's sister) is futuristic glam with a palette of gleaming white, black and silver. Textural stimuli abound with velvet curtains, white billowy sheers and silver painted globes hanging from the ceiling. The upstairs bar, reminiscent of a forgotten speakeasy is a swank backdrop to quaff health-conscious cocktails with organic ingredients like acai and lychee.

Chef John Suley (of Cafe Joley in Boca) has apprenticed with some fiery toques including Daniel Boulud and Gordon Ramsay. feast on his American-European fare like sautéed frogs legs with pickled jicama and orange habanero sauce, Tasmanian sea trout with ginger broth and a gluttonously good grand marnier crème brulee.

Did I mention the outdoor courtyard with candlelit lanterns a soothing waterfall?
I just did.
