New Miami Restaurants

  • SoBe food fiends are migrating north to nosh on belly-filling homemade pastas and hearty Italian fare at the new Cantina 27. The neighborhood bistro is a fitting spot to feast on chef Luciano Sautto's (formerly of Vita) gnocchi with Taleggio cheese and walnuts or the hefty New York steak nestled in Chianti reduction. 2701 Collins Ave., Miami Beach, 305.673.5241.
  • Jason McClain's cooking again at his recently opened Jason's at the Harrison. Head to the SoFi hotspot for McClain's (Nikki Beach, 8 ½) creative global cuisine with inventive touches like tamarind braised oxtail with yucca chips, miso glazed sea bass with shiitake mushroom kimchi.
  • Peruvian expats and curious foodies are loving Surfside's new Adriana and the Lima-born namesake chef's Peruvian-fusion eats. The glam neo-Victorian décor and dishes like escolar ceviche, crispy yuquitas (yuca croquetas stuffed with cheese) washed down with a chicha morada (spiced purple-corn and fruit juice) are muy caliente. 9477 Harding Ave., Surfside; 305.867.1220.
  • Amoretto just opened up next to the Musuem of Contemporary Art in North Miami.
  • Also on 125th closer to the Bay Harbor bridge is Two Chefs Too, courtesy of Jan Jorgensen, proprietor of Two Chefs, the 12-year-old Pinecrest restaurant.
